About Khanyisile Ngwenya
Born, bred, and buttered in Soweto, Khanyisile Ngwenya may be physically brittle due to being diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta at birth, but her spirit — and her comedic timing — is completely unbreakable.
Since stepping onto the stand-up stage in December 2020, Khanyisile’s trajectory has been nothing short of meteoric. After finishing as a runner-up at the 2024 Jive Funny Championship, she graced the stage at the Jive Comedy Festival at The Baxter Theatre. In 2025, she made history as the very first recipient of the Newcomer Award (The Eb Award) at the Savanna Comics' Choice Comedy Awards. She capitalized on that momentum in November 2025 by writing and successfully debuting her brilliant first solo show, A Tall Story.

A powerhouse talent, Khanyisile returned to the Savanna Comics' Choice Awards in 2026 to perform in a star-studded ensemble alongside comedy icon Tumi Morake, further solidifying her status by sharing the stage with industry heavyweights The Goliaths. Having already opened for Dillan Oliphant and shared stages with legends like Riaad Moosa and Joe Barber, Khanyisile is just getting started. She may not have become the medical doctor she once hoped to be, but since her laughter is the best medicine, she’s dedicated to healing souls and relieving aches, one "haha" at a time.
